MISSION STATMENT
We are dedicated to conserving motorcycles for us and for future generations. Our mission is to build relationships, empower bikers, and strengthen the community through sharing motorcycle conservation tools and resources. Together, we can preserve the legacy and value of motorcycles while also saving the planet.
Hi there, I’m Kay Awaad, an Egyptian American with a lifelong passion for motorcycles. My journey on two wheels began with my first bike, a Yamaha GT80, in Egypt. When its engine broke down, finding the necessary parts for repairs was nearly impossible. This struggle continued over the years with other bikes.
When I moved to the US, I thought my parts problem was solved with all the dealers around. However, I quickly realized that while dealers can provide new parts for recently manufactured bikes, they often don’t have what I need for older or custom bikes.
If you’re a motorcycle builder, customizer, classic bike collector, restorer, or mechanic, you know the occasional need for used parts, whether because they’re unavailable new or too expensive. Even inventors and artists sometimes need used parts.
So, where are all the parts? They’re scattered across the internet—on Facebook Marketplace, groups, forums, and eBay. The big companies don’t understand that a used part is not like a phone or a camera; it’s unique, and its seeker is also unique. eBay was good in the beginning, but over time, they became greedy and too expensive with listing fees, selling fees, and many other charges. It reached a point where it was easier to throw a part in the trash than try to sell it. They also make it harder to find used parts because they prioritize new parts for higher profits.
At Recycle Your Motorcycle (RYM), we understand the struggle. That’s why we offer a free, well-organized, and safe platform to connect buyers and sellers from around the world. RYM is a step towards a solution, but we need your participation and help spreading the word to make it truly effective.
Let’s be honest, no one gets rich from selling used parts or fixing bikes. We do it for the love of motorcycles.
More to come:
